Ep. 145: So Long Gene, And Hello Final Street

Earlier this week we were all hit hard to find out we had lost another comedy icon, Gene Wilder. In our "Retro Roundtable" this episode, we celebrate Gene and remember all the laughs he brought all of us.

Though we are younger and never got to see some of his older movies, there are a few that we have seen that made us love him. No doubt that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Hear No Evil See No Evil are being played all over the place.

Next up we invited writer Scott Schmidt and artist Brian Atkins to the show to talk about their super secret project. No one knows anything about except us! Well, maybe not but it is something that we are super excited to see.

So you remember last time we had Scott on the show and we talked about the good ol' beat em up games like Final Fight, Double Dragon, and Streets of Rage? No? Well you should stop right here and go listen to that episode. We'll wait.....OK. So, these guys are working on a comic series called:

This comic is based off of that type of game. Now there have been some other comics based off fighting type games. But they had the video game type of feel to them. Like if they beat up someone, that person would maybe turned into a bunch of coins. They may even find a Ham laying on the street waiting to be eaten to give health back to our heroes. Not this comic, it will still have the beat em' up aspect, but should be more real life based? I guess that's how to put it, lol.

Now for the story:

The first issue is still in the creation process and will hopefully be out in the first quarter of 2017. Next year can't get here fast enough. The guys are also thinkin of creating some music to go along with the comic to listen to whilst reading. Our mouths are watering!!! We will keep you all posted as events unfold, so stay tuned!
